Hello again!

Just wanted to take a couple minutes to send a reminder about the flash deal on my comedic sci-fi series, The Multiverse Askew Trilogy.

Until 11:59PM PST, physical copies of The Multiverse Askew Trilogy are available as an add-on for 33% off!

Click the image above to head to the project

What's it about?

A mischief god. Reincarnated dictators. Cosmic teddy bears. The Multiverse is a weird place. Unfortunately, its fate lies in the hands of the laziest guy on Earth. We're in trouble...

Kickstarter can make it a little tricky to update your add-ons, so here's how you do so:

Start by clicking on the above image of the novels and then

  • On app: go to the "Manage Pledge" tab in Kickstarter, click the "..." tab at the top right, and then click "Edit Reward." Click on the reward you already chose and then the add-on section will pop up. Scroll down to "The Multiverse Askew Trilogy (33% Off)" and add it to your pledge.
  • On desktop: click the "Manage your pledge" tab at the top, click "change reward," and click on the reward you already chose. Once you hit "continue," the add-on section will pop up. Scroll down to "The Multiverse Askew Trilogy (33% Off)" and add it to your pledge.

We're also only 2 backers away from the next Milestone unlock, so be sure to keep spreading the word :)

Thank you again for backing MANDRILL P.I.! I'll be back soon with another update, but until then, my favorite part of these updates: highlighting other projects you may be interested in.

1) POOR OLD MS. WEST by RANDY STONE

Randy Stone is back with another super cool concept. This comic is a horror retelling of The Wizard of Oz with the likes of ghosts, zombies, beasts & killing machines.

Poor Old Ms. West puts a horror spin on the classic Wizard of Oz characters, where the titular Ms. West is terrorized by monsters trying to take her life.

This 24-page one-and-done story is brought to you by horror master Dillion Gilbertson (Sweet Heart, My Neighbor Necromancer), artistic genius Heather Vaughan (most of your favourite covers, posters and games), letterer supreme Joamette Gil (Nottingham, Speed Republic), and adeptly assembled by Randy Stone (Bullet Adventures, Crime Pays).

2) BEAT TO SHIT by JOON THE GOON

Joon is an amazing artist who noticed a big problem: so often after superhero fights, the combatants look mostly unscathed, when they should look "beat to shit."

In his words: "This project came from the ideas that Im tired of seeing comic book characters in perfect costumes, neatly ironed and pressed. If these superheroes are as bad ass as we believe, they should look like they’ve been in a war or two or twenty. This premise got me to explore the world of battle tested warriors."

3) RISE by TREVOR FERNANDES-LENKIEWICZ

Rise asks the question, "What does it take to rise from MAN to SUPERMAN?"

RISE follows Jonathan A. Prufrock as he delves into what it really means to be a good man while attempting to be super. This 40 page premium print comic explores one male's ego through the elevated life of a superhero and attempts to navigate the pressures of what it really means to be a good man.

1) SHARK OF WAR #1-7 by BEN LACY

My friend Ben is back with another issue of one of the most fun comics around. If you're not reading it, you should change that right away. It's one of those concepts you wish you'd thought of, because it must be a blast to write.

After a massive bioengineered shark escapes a secret military lab, he makes himself the law of the sea. Able to fly, bullet proof, and armed with guns and teeth, he cuts a swath thru the bad guys. But the Mob and the evil scientist who created him have a plan to stop him - make ever more dangerous creatures.

And now, they have made the one thing even The Shark of War fears, Killer Whales who have been modified just like he has.

I recently met Mike at Fan Expo San Francisco and had a blast hanging out with him. He creates underground comics starring the sensational Dopecat.

These comics are a comedic romp featuring a dope-smoking cat and a hilarious cast of supporting characters. If you're into underground comics or weed-inspired humor, then you'll love this book. Check it out!

Thank you!

I'm blown away by the support for this little cartoon mandrill. You are AMAZING.

But we have 17 days left in the campaign! And it doesn't shut down just because we've met the initial funding goal.

All it means is that publication is now guaranteed. Which is SO exciting, and something for which I’m so appreciative. Thanks to YOU, this cartoon noir tale can continue.

But now that we have 17 days left, this is an amazing opportunity to really expand our audience. I hope you’ll help me do so by continuing to promote the Kickstarter campaign on your social channels during the remaining few weeks.

I'll be back in your feed soon to announce bonus Stretch Goals, so stay tuned for some cool upgrades to rewards.

AND DON'T FORGET:

Love horror comics? Well, I’ve got some great news for you! Nightmare Theatre 3-D has funded! But the campaign ends in just over 24 hours.

This AMAZING anthology is filled with horror stories from some of the most exciting names in indie comics. And me! I’ve got a 6-page story in this one with art by the delightful Irlander Romero, who you may remember from his awesome variant cover for MANDRILL P.I. Issue #3.

1) MASTIFF #1 by BIG TIM STILES

My friend Big Tim Stiles is back with another absolutely amazing comic. Tim is one of my favorite writers, and he never disappoints with his gripping dialogue and thrilling plots. Reading his Gorilla My Dreams comic has been a huge highlight for me over the last couple years.

I was sold as soon as I read the Mastiff logline: What if Jason Voorhees was the GOOD guy? The Littlest Hobo meets Friday the 13th meets Shakespeare's Hamlet!

Here's the plot for Mastiff from Tim himself:

Claude Deny is the charismatic pastor at the Evangelical REDEEM COMMUNITY CHURCH in the small town of Haven.  He's living the perfect life; Fashionable and funky, popular, married to the young and beautiful Brie, two cars, big house, all surrounded by a white picket fence.

But his perfect life is thrown into chaos when he comes across a foreboding figure from his past. Who is this monster and what has Deny done to deserve its wrath?

I can't wait to get my hands on this book. The campaign ends soon, so don't miss out!

2) NIGHT WOLF #1-8 by ROB MULTARI

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Rob over the last couple years, and he is such a creative force it is delightful to behold. He is another of my favorite writers, and he has managed to create a ridiculously cool world with his Night Wolf and Snow Paw series.

If you're into werewolves and you're not currently reading his work, you are seriously missing out.

What's Night Wolf about? Here it is from the man himself:

Born into the outcast breed of werewolves known as the Monoki, eighteen-year-old Rodney Marcelli is reluctantly pulled into an ancient war between good and evil, during a modern time where the line has blurred.

With the help of Snow Paw, the Pureblood Monoki, and the supernatural evil slayer, Night Hunter, Rod must learn to master his newly found lycanthropy and mysterious kinetic energy power that only he possesses. Rod must fight the Dark Covenant in order to avenge his friends and family, and to save the girl he loves from the master vampire, Lord Malice.

Rodney Marcelli is Night Wolf!

As always, Rob has a ton of ridiculously cool covers to check out, and plenty of ways to get caught up on the story. But his campaign ends TODAY, so don't wait to head to his page and grab your copy.
